Scientific contributions
Coordinated by the Faculty of Technical Architecture, the University of Alicante brings in a comprehensive expertise in Architecture, Urban Planning and Human Geography. Studies and research activities of the department of Human Geography is primarily giving emphasis on the following subject areas: Urban geography, Social Geography, Industry und Agriculture in the urban and territorial development, Transportation, Urban Planning and Land Division. In the area of Urban Development the most relevant issues are: Urban and Territorial Planning, Design of Public Space, Implementation of Building Lease in the city construction, Design of Territory, Architecture and City, Urban and Metropolitan Transport.
The urban area of the Escuela Politecnica Superior of Alicante is working actually in issues related with the territorial development and sustainable environment.
There are two analytic projects about the forms of urban and territorial occupation of the Mediterranean Spanish cost with the view of intensive tourist attraction development. One of the projects is about the relation between commercial harbors and the city, where the public space is relevant.
