Scientific contributions
CUJAE is the oldest and leading University institution for the formation of Engineers and Architects in Cuba focusing on sustainable Urban Architecture, Renovation and Maintenance of historical city areas and housing and on Landscape Architecture.
On the one-hand side, the faculties of Architecture and Civil Engineering show a remarkable scientific experience with practical strategies and measures for sustainable urban architecture renovation and restructuring in the world-heritage area of Old Havana, regarding the historical heritage to the same extent as the central industrial sites under conversion (harbors or transport systems).
On the other side, the particularly cooperative approach for scientific research and development together cooperation projects with public authorities and planning institutions of Havana (IPFE and INA), non-governmental institutions, and citizens is of valuable importance for the AURORA network.
